Akio came up to me today asking if I had some spare time and wanted a 'do. It's been ages since Akio last took over my hair so I jumped at the chance!

Watching Akio in the mirror I soon realised that he was using the end of his comb to zigzag around a section in my hair and then it became clearer to me that he was weaving my hair! He sprayed some Bumble and bumble Prep beforehand to help with the weaving.

Once I realised what he was doing, he told me that he had gotten inspiration from one of the books on our reception table. He ran upstairs and came down to show me. I soon found the pages which had helped inspire him:

I've been planning to get Fran, our salon manager, to do a do for a while now but the last time I planned to, he was off sick (how convenient!) Today, after checking everyone's timetables and noticing Fran had some free time, I ran down to his office to ask him to make me a do and that he did!

Given that Fran hasn't had any time to think or prepare what he's going to do, he's a little stumped at first. Ignoring the sides, we start with backcombing part of my hair (the top half of my hair, horizontally, if you catch my drift). As usual I look a little... electrified.

Next, Fran takes a pair of WAM Digital Straightening Irons which have been warming up for a while now. He swipes them through the hair on the sides of my head and through the back part that hasn't been backcombed.

Spraying some Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray onto the backcombed area, Fran then takes the top third of the section and pushes it back onto itself, securing with a grip. Next, some other small sections of hair are taken in criss-crossing fashion and held in place with a grip.

To finish off, Fran takes some Bumble and bumble Brilliantine and smooths it onto the sides and on my fringe giving it some extra shine and some added oomph! Using a combination of Bumble and bumble Does It All and some Bumble and bumble Classic, Fran sprays the look into place and we're done!

Today is another one that has been in the works for a while now and today is finally the turn of Jean-Marc! He's taking inspiration from the stunning S/S11 Louis Vuitton ad campaign and for those who haven't seen it, feast your eyes on this:

Fran just so happened to be around when I was looking for volunteers for today's 'do. Most of the team were busy bees, but lucky for me that Fran had a slot free and so we set about to work!

Before we started, Fran tells me he's going to go for something simple. Maria, one of our lovely receptionists, will tell you this. However, after coming back from lunch and sinking down in the chair Fran now wants to go tribal! I wasn't too sure if simple and tribal were words that normally go together so I watched Fran working in the mirror to see what would happen...

First he sectioned off an area of hair around my crown. This was what the section looked like:

Next, Fran took a can of Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray and sprayed it on the left side of my hair (the free flowing part of it, not the part that was sectioned off) and then swept it over to the right, spraying some more as he went. He then took the left side part of my hair and twisted this section over and over, going from the left side over to the right and around the back, and back to the spot here he'd started, just above my ear. Here he secured it in place with a couple of grips.

After it was time for that sectioned off area. Taking out the clip, and starting from the right side of my head this time, Fran took small sections of hair, sprayed some more Bumble and bumble Classic on the section and twisted them onto themselves, pinning then into little circles. He continued to do a line of these little rings and circles from right to left and then all over the previously sectioned off area.

To finish, some more Bumble and bumble Classic was used to secure the look. And there you have it, Fran's simply tribal look!

Today is MJ's return to doing 'do of the day and she's planning a vintage-inspired look but with a twist! I loved - as did everyone in the salon, actually - MJ's last do that she created for me so I'm looking forward to something beautiful and wearable.

MJ begins by taking the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and drying the back of my hair upside down. Thankfully that doesn't mean I'm doing a handstand up against the wall whilst she dries my hair - it just means she's using a brush to dry it upwards as opposed to downwards so that when she moves on to creating the updo, it'll be easier for her to do it.

Next, we take lots of Bumble and bumble Straight, and in sections MJ applies this to my hair which needs to be done evenly so that we will have a wet, shiny texture at the back. Once this is done, she asks me to sit down in my chair with my head forward so whilst I can't see what she's doing, she tells me that she's twisting a section of hair at the back into a twist braid (not plaiting it which is what it felt like). She sprays on some Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray to tame those flyaways before using some grips to try and make the shape of the braid more prominent.

To help speed up the curl setting process, MJ makes use of the WAM Universal Diffuser on the end of the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer on a cold setting to cool them down. The clips are then taken out and I can't stop laughing - I look absolutely ridiculous!!

Thankfully that's not the end of the look and MJ runs her fingers through my hair to break up the curls. She uses a brush to smooth the sides and then uses grips to keep the hair in place, doing this on both sides. The curls on top are then brushed, some Bumble and bumble Does It All sprayed all over (resulting in coughing fits as Bumble and bumble Does It All and colds do not mix well) and the grips on the left side taken out.

Mia has been wanting to do 'do of the day for ages now but we've never found any time until now! I'm super excited and I can tell that she is too. We're going for a beehive sorta look with a strong shape that looks done whilst also being undone at the same time. When she grabs me after lunch and tells me that she has a client in twenty minutes, I think we're never going to finish this! Some dos take a lot of time so I was feeling a little doubtful, but I needn't have worried. This is a do which takes not very much time at all yet has a big effect!

To start with my dry hair was prepped with Bumble and bumble White Hair Powder to give it a slight grey tinge. Once this was done, Mia then started to lace my hair all over, which as Mia explains to me (a hair newb) is a gentler version of backbrushing. It makes the hair look a bit airy and light and I can soon see what she means by that:

With my hair laced, it was then put into a French pleat at the back of my head but in a raw, not very precise sort of way to achieve that done-but-undone look that Mia's after.

The top was then brushed back into the French pleat and the whole look spritzer over with some wet lacquer - in this case, Mia used some Bumble and bumble Does It All and Bumble and bumble Holding Spray.

I love this look and think the undone-but-done (or done-but-undone?) quality stops my hair from looking too out of place - I am after all wearing a t-shirt and skirt rather than a full on ballgown! It's so pretty and as silly as this may sound, I feel a bit like Penelope Cruz in those Elnett ads!

Today's do took place at Salon Smart, held at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel. We arrived early to set up our pod and get ready arranging booklets, photos and products from our WAM electricals range.

We were there as part of the Working Lunch but as one of the talks had overrun (lots of eager people asking lots of questions!) we tucked into some yummy food before the crowds arrived. (My favourites were the potato salad and the Indian rice - minus the sultanas!) After we finished eating, people started trickling in so Sergio popped a gown on me and off we went...

We were demo-ing the new WAM Revolving Curling Irons you might have heard me mention on previous 'dos of the day so I knew today's look was going to include curls. But that was all I knew until we had finished as unfortunately there were no mirrors for me to peer into so unfortunately this post will be a little less visual than usual.

Sergio started by prepping my hair with Bumble and bumble Prep spray and then worked Bumble and bumble Styling Creme into the mix. He dried both products into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer (which got lots of attention as well. "Look at this amazing hairdryer!" was one thing I overheard whilst I was getting my 'do done).

Next Sergio started to barrel curling my hair using the new WAM Revolving Irons in a size 25. This took a little more time than usual as Sergio had to keep stopping to talk irons to everyone who were interested (there were a few!). Once this was done, Sergio brushed out the curls so l had more of a wavy look before running some Bumble and bumble Styling Wax through my hair. Adding in some grips and pins, spraying with some  Bumble and bumble Does It All and we were done!

Sergio's Rolley Poley Do

With a slightly naughty name, it should come as no surprise that this 'Do is a little naughty in itself!

Sergio is a master at looking at my hair, smooshing it around my head and coming up with a look out of nowhere! It really is quite incredible how he does it. Describing this look is "a little sophisticated but a little bit naughty," you can kind of see what he means... Keep reading to find out what makes it the best of both worlds.

Sergio started by prepping my hair as always with Bumble and bumble Prep spray and Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray, which was rough dried into my hair with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer to give my hair some texture. After, some Bumble and bumble Styling Wax was applied through the hair and starting with a triangular piece from the back at the top, my roots were backcombed with a flat brush. More Bumble and bumble Styling Wax was applied after to smooth the section and give it some shine before the piece was rolled onto itself and pinned at the base to secure.

My hair was then split into four more sections and each section was backcombed, Bumble and bumble Styling Wax-ed up, rolled and pinned before being connected to the first top roll. Once each roll is in place, add a VERY generous spraying of Bumble and bumble Does It All to keep it in place.

Top tip: With each new section, roll it on top of the previous one.

Use grips to make all the rolls absolutely perfect and you're done!

This look reminds me a bit of Cheryl's 'do what seems like ages ago now that X-Factor has finished. I wasn't so much of a fan of her look but I really liked Sergio's kinda similar look as it was just such a change to my ordinary hair. My favourite part was the back as it was so smooth and perfect that I just couldn't stop touching it! Gravity-defying hair at its best!

Here's a quick little 'do courtesy of Mia. With her last do taking 15 minutes, and today's taking around 10, I'm starting to wonder if Mia is the speedy queen of 'do of the day?

As I've had a lot of fussy, complex, multi-product-needing dos lately, Mia's decided to turn things around a bit by creating something that's low on product and time.

She starts by spraying Bumble and bumble Does It All into my hair before she lacing it (I'm starting to pick up the hair terminology now!)

Once my hair is laced to Mia's liking, she sprays on a bit more Bumble and bumble Does It All and then we're off out into the lovely sunshine to take some photos.

Sergio was the first one to start 'do of the day and he may well be the last as I'll be leaving Windle & Moodie on Tuesday for pastures new. Don't fret - I'll still be updating the blog with news every now and then so you can get your hair fix but 'do of the day will unfortunately be coming to an end. As today I have two days left we might be able to wrangle a few final dos in (I know Bon wants to get his do on!) so don't be sad about this ending and enjoy Sergio's final creation!

As always my hair needs some prepping. Sergio uses a mix of Bumble and bumble Styling Creme and Bumble and bumble Prep to work into my hair before drying it off with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer. He then starts to backcomb all of my hair which results in me looking like this:

It's a fuh-reezing cold, grey, Monday morning and I'm glad that there's hairdryers on to keep me warm! Today Bon is taking over my hair with... well, he's not quite sure yet so I guess today's 'do of the day will be quite a surprise for all of us.

Bon starts by prepping my hair with some Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion which he puts into my dry hair. This is quickly followed by some Bumble and bumble Styling Creme, both of which are dried into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer which I'm sure you've heard all about by now. Yay, warmth! My hair is then parted with a fine tooth comb into a lower-than-usual-but-not-too-low side parting and then things start to take shape. 

Bon works Bumble and bumble Gel into the top part of my hair. There is A LOT of Gel being using here, think painters squidging tubes of paint out onto palettes getting ready to create a masterpiece. So, with this Gel completely taking over the top half of my head, Bon works his magic and uses a comb to drag my hair into waves.

By this point I'm thinking ooh-1920s/1940s? At least the top half sorta looks that way. My fringe is blowdried straight up into a mini-quiff and then held in place with a clip.

With the top half done, it's now time for the bottom section. Taking a WAM Ceramic Curling Iron in size 25, Bon starts to curl sections of my hair at the back. Moving between curling the back and repositioning some of the waves on the top, Bon uses some Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion on the gelled hair to move the waves into the perfect place.

Once the piece of hair that's been annoying Bon is finally in the perfect spot, he starts to backcomb the curls. Suddenly my hair goes all frizzy (a rare occurrence with my super straight hair) and from the front it looks like bunches which reminds me of Neil's hair at the Nathan Jenden Spring/Summer 2011 show. It's not actually bunches though as I spy in one of the many mirrors; it's kinda a frizzy bob all around.

For the finishing touches, Bon picks up where Sergio left off on Day One and decides to use gold hair grips as an accessory. This starts to look pretty cool and what with the waves looking kinda 1920s/40s, the frizz reminding me of 70s, the addition of gold hair grips kinda makes me think futuristic (as does the super gelled hair). It's a mish mash of different textures and different decades but somehow it just works. Finally, with all the hair grips in place, I get given a spraying of Bumble and bumble White Hair Powder (and suddenly I'm thinking of those bouffants from Georgian times) before I'm sprayed with Bumble and bumble Red Hair Powder which gives it a bit of a modern twist. 

So there you have it, a 'do that spans the decades!

I've never done anything like colour my hair so when Kei tells me we're doing 'do of the day today and pulls out a blonde wig I'm a little skeptical about whether or not it will suit me. He tries it on my head, plays around with it and then tries on a black wig. As I have a meeting in half an hour we won't be doing 'do of the day yet and at this point I'm unsure just what will be going on...

When I'm done I come downstairs and meet a rather excited Kei and Bon.

The wig is on the worktop and him and Bon get my hair ready for some wig-wearing. My hair is parted in two halves which are then twisted around each other and with the help of some Bumble and bumble Classic and a few grips, they're held in place like this.

Now it's time for the wig!!

It takes a while for my eyes to adjust to this blonde hair that's now sitting on and framing my face. Once I've glanced at my reflection every which way I ask Kei what he did to the wig.

First, he prepped it with some Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray before using a mix of this with Bumble and bumble Gellac. Lots of Gellac, he tells me (and I'm rather grateful that I'm wearing a wig and won't be getting a shampoo after we're done!) Then he used a comb to create the finger waves before tonging the rest of the hair - the ends - with the size 13 WAM Ceramic Curling Iron and brushing the curls out. And this is the result!

Whilst I don't think I will take the plunge and dye my hair, I did enjoy being a blonde for all of 15 minutes! My eyebrows were a little too dark for Kei's liking so with the use of various make-up pencils, we tried to lighten them up a little. I guess the stylists are now going to take over all my hair now - including my eyebrows!

And do I think blondes have more fun? Well, I did have fun as a blonde but not any more than I do with my dark hair. And now I go back to black...

Today Josh takes over my hair. Like Bon yesterday, he's not too sure what to do (I guess when you're told you can do just about anything with someone's hair it's all a bit kid in a candy store). He starts by looking at my hair before deciding to go for a romatic, baroque-esque look with a super flat top and a center part. It's all about the shape with this look - Josh is more interested in the width of the hair rather than the height of it, hence keeping the top flat, and he also wants to concentrate all the energy in the middle/bottom of the hair. Firstly it's prepped with Bumble and bumble Prep, Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray and Bumble and bumble Styling Creme all applied into my dry hair and roughly dried in with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer.

With a center parting, I'm given a straight fringe as opposed to my current side one (I had both a straight fringer and a center part for 18 years; it feels weird to go back into old hair territory!). Josh curls my fringe under itself using a size 25 WAM Ceramic Curling Iron and then clips it to set.

Next, taking small sections of hair, he tongs my hair using the size 13 WAM Ceramic Curling Iron, but keeps a slight distance away from the roots as this will also help to keep things a bit flat. He wants to brush the curls out into a frizzy oblivion so tonging my hair in small sections will help with this.

Flatness achieved, yes!

After doing one side, he brushes my hair into a frizz so I can see what he wants to do all over. Suddenly my mid-length hair became a frizzy bob which is the total opposite of what it's like usually! I have some really short layers cut into my hair which has caused some "hmm-ing" before but Josh says that as long as you backbrush the hair right, it shouldn't be a problem. He also recommends that if you want to do this look and also have short layers like me, that as the layers get shorters it's best to barrel tong the sections and keep it very tight. To backbrush the hair you should start from the bottom and work your way up in sections firstly brushing the curls out for fluffiness, and then backbrushing it by pushing the hair up onto itself to create a shape.

To finish some of the ends were rolled under themselves and secured with a grip whilst any odd stragglers were separated apart and pushed back by Josh's fingers. A good healthy spraying of Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray and the look is complete!

This look is quite similar to the Peter Jensen show that some of the team (Josh included) did in Copenhagen a few months back.

The key to getting this look right is to start by using lots of product.

Afterwards, the hair can feel quite dry and you may want to use a masque to help repair the hair. Josh recommends using Bumble and bumble Mending or Quenching Masque (leave it in for a few minutes before washing off) and then working some Bumble and bumble Mending Complex into the wet hair and drying.

Sergio hasn't done a do for a while now and I think his fingers are itching to create a new look! Unlike many of his other creations, this one hasn't been planned so I wonder what we'll get from this spur-of-the-moment do? He messes my hair this way and that before deciding that we should prep the hair first and then we can work with it better since my hair is "SOOOOOO straight!"

Sergio starts by spraying some Bumble and bumble Prep into my hair before applying a new product I've never seen before: Bumble and bumble Texture. When Simon comes over to have a nosey with this new-fangled styling wonder, Sergio tells him "it's a bit like Bumble and bumble Styling Creme but stronger." These two products are dried into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and with my hair all freshly prepped, Sergio decides on a name: Swept Away, which hints at what he'll be doing. Describing the look he says it's "dressing the hair for a hot summer evening, giving hair the feel of a haircut but with a glamorous edge."

So with that out of the way we're now using some Bumble and bumble Gel on the left side of my head, spraying on some more Bumble and bumble Prep and then smoothing the hair down with a flatbrush before clipping it flat against the head. Those short layers on top that everyone loves to hate? They're being gently backbrushed and then left for some styling later on. Moving onto the right side of my head, Sergio repeats what he did using the Bumble and bumble Gel, Bumble and bumble Prep, brush and clip.

With the sides done, it's now time to focus on the bulk of my hair. Sergio uses his hands to move all the hair to the right side and rolls the hair underneath itself before using grips to secure it in place. The clips are taken about before those short backbrushed layers are styled over the top so I look a bit like I've got short hair.

Finally, a good coating of Bumble and bumble Does It All means we're done and have been suitably swept away!

This look is all about texture and the back of the hair is the best part of the look with the hair "Swept Away" from one side of the head to the other. Really lovely!

Our network went down today taking the internet down with it so I had some spare time this morning and decided to pounce on Tara for 'Do of the Day since she also had a bit of free time. What I like about 'do of the day is that sometimes I can end up with really wacky hair that takes a while to tame before I can leave the salon, or sometimes my hair ends up being uber-glam and I feel too overdressed to pop to Pret - you just never know! So when Tara told me today that we'd probably go for something that isn't too OTT, I was a little relieved, I have to admit! After all it is only Monday and we have the rest of the week for something a little more dramatic...

Tara preps my hair by working in some Bumble and bumble Styling Creme all the way through, except for my fringe, and drying it in using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer.

After spraying some Bumble and bumble Does It All at the roots, Tara then backcombs the same area and before long people are asking "Hey Tara, is that style called the scarecrow?!"

"No, it's called the Pineapple! Duh!"

Next, the top part of my hair is sectioned off and then rolled and pinned underneath, which looks rather cute all by itself.

Two sections of hair near my ears (one section from either side) are taken, pulled around and pinned in place.

Now it's time to tackle the rest of the hair. Tara takes a flatbrush and pushes what's left so that it rolls in, before using grips to secure. 

To finish Tara uses a WAM Ceramic Curling Iron in size 25 to put a bit of a bend in my fringe before spraying it in all in place with some Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray.

Top tip: It's nice to keep some little pieces falling out so it stops the style from look to harsh.

I really like this look and the fact that it's not too extreme so will probably keep it in for the rest of the day.

Today is my last day here at Windle & Moodie (don't worry, I'll still be around updating the blog!) and the final do of the day. I think ever since 'do of the day started and the stylists got into the competitive spirit of it all, that Kei, Bon or Sergio would be one of the guys to end it and well, I wasn't wrong!

Bon is our final do of the day creator and after Sergio's final sculptural do, he created his own hair sculpture. Starting off with a good spraying of Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray , Bon then dried this into my hair with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer with a brush, which help to sculpt my hair in all different directions.

Starting with a piece of hair smack bang in the middle of my head, Bon starts to backcomb my hair, which he then does all over.

There's a hefty spraying of Bumble and bumble Does It All (this makes Takashi cough all the way down at the other end of the salon floor!) and then there's some hairdryer and brush action.

Now that Bon has all my hair up, he starts to create more of a shape with the whole thing beginning with some WAM Ceramic Curling Irons in a size 28 which are held up against the front of my "quiff". This front area is then sprayed with some more Bumble and bumble Does It All to secure it in place and dried off again with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer.

Using the end of the comb, Bon starts to cut into the shape of my hair by using his combination of Bumble and bumble Does It All and WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer to indent my hair.

Finally, it wouldn't be a proper Bon 'do without some hair powders! Bon breaks out the Bumble and bumble White Hair Powder before deciding that red words much better and turns my do red with the aid of Bumble and bumble Red Hair powder.

And there we have it: the final 'do of the day!

It's MJ's turn to take over my hair today and I'm excited to see what she'll do as I love MJ's effortlessly cool style. She starts by spraying Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray all over my hair to give it some grip before sectioning off a horseshoe section on the top of my head.

MJ then starts working with the main bulk of my hair, french braiding it to the right-hand side. This is then tied off with some white elastic which she winds up and down before knotting it.

Next MJ's attention moves to the top part of my head and in particular, my fringe. She braids this as well to the right hand side, tying it off with white elastic like before, then twisting and pinning it where the main braid starts.

I quite like this do as MJ said when she finished "it's a bit Pocahontas" but also quite cool and after a day of reading all about how braids are perfect for spring, it's like she read my mind!

It's a rare occasion when Kei is in the salon so I was really excited when he was happy and willing to do the 'do of the day today. He mentioned that he thought some people were overthinking it all and that he thought I'd look good with shorter hair. I hoped that this 'do wouldn't include scissors as when it comes to hair, I will be the first to admit that I am a total wimp! Luckily, Kei had devised a masterplan to give me the illusion of short hair without cutting any (except a single strand that got in his way).

Firstly Kei sectioned off the top part of my hair which was going to form the actual short hair "mirage" if you will and focused his attention on the bulk of it, splitting this further into three sections. Kei braided each section separately, spritzing it with Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray before plaiting and tying with elastic.

The plaits were done quite tight but they definitely aren't painful in the slightest.

Once all three braids were done, Kei then used a few pins and elastic to secure the braid sort of on itself so no end bits were visible.

To finish, the clips securing the top section were taking out and the area sprayed with some Bumble and bumble Prep and Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion. Kei then dried my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and a roundbrush before straightening some pieces of hair using the WAM Digital Straightening Irons. Once it was absolutely perfect (and that random straggler strand cut) Kei gave it a very, very generous spraying of Bumble and bumble Classic. And that's the long and short of it!

I really like this look because I've always wondered what I'd look like with something drastically different like a short cut, and this is a great way to see it without actually committing to the chop. It's weird though because at the same time, I know that my hair is still there, just in braids and tucked up, so I can't imagine how it would be if it was actually cut... Think I'm going to have to look at the photos a little closer to see if I could really go for it!

I wonder what Bon will come up for me today? He's a little stumped whilst he combs my hair this way and that and yet again there is more talk of my short layers (Bon admits that he'd be too scared to cut layers that short and honestly, I'm quite surprised). After piling my hair on top of my head from various angles, he's satisfied that he has some sort of plan and gets to work with prepping my hair with lots of Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion before working some Bumble and bumble Styling Creme into my hair which is then dried in with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer. Next, Bon takes small sections of my hair, sprays each with some Bumble and bumble Does It All, then backcombs it - not a little like we've had these past few days, but quite a lot.

So much that my hair is actually sticking right up!

He then creates a roll at the front with what used to be my fringe, pinning it in place and then moving to my right hand side and repeating the motions until he's worked his way all around my head. Once we have perfect rolls all the way around, he gives me a good spraying of more Bumble and bumble Does It All.

Now we have a roll around my head (a bit like if I put a small rubber ring around my head but not so ridiculous) and this area in the middle with my backcombed hair. It's looking a little deflated after all the rolling so Bon backcombs it gently again and then pins it in place so it sticks up above my roll. Once he's happy with the look, I get a very, very generous spraying of some more Bumble and bumble Does It All to keep everything in place.

I quite like this look but feel a little underdressed as the hair is so theatrical. I've had "it looks like a geisha" and "it looks kinda Victorian, like from another time" and, unfortunately, a band tee and an American Apparel skirt just isn't period enough to go with the hair!

Tara had a bit of free time this morning so I grabbed her for 'Do of the Day. Sorry for putting you on the spot, Tara! I think she came up trumps though, even without having much more than ten minutes to think about what to do. So without any further a-do, here is today's 'Do of the Day!

First Tara preps my hair with some Bumble and bumble Prep to dampen my hair down. Next she works some Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray all the way through my hair from the roots right the way to the ends. All of this is then rough dried into my hair to give it some texture.

After spraying on some Bumble and bumble Does It All, it's time to start tonging. Tara asks how well my hair takes curls. Unfortunately for Tara, I have no idea! So with baited breath, Tara starts tonging my hair in 2 inch wide sections with the WAM Ceramic Curling Irons in size 25 that is about 2 inches away from my roots. She keeps my ends out so they don't go too curly and positions the waves away from my face. As always my tiny layers at the top are brought up but it's not too much of a problem as they're given a bend and the top is kept quite flat anyway.

Next Tara takes a Bumble and bumble flat brush and runs it through those curls (they turned out fine btw!) in a what I would describe as a "wiggly" motion (probably not the correct technical term). Some more Bumble and bumble Does It All follows the brushing and then some Bumble and bumble Grooming Creme is smoothed on on the top, flat part followed by some Bumble and bumble Brilliantine.

Some of the waves get a going over with the tongs again and held in place with some silver clips which will be taken out at the end.

Once the waves are all in place, it's time to start work on all that hair at the back. The hair is wrapped up onto itself from right to left and then what's left is also pinned up onto itself. Using large pins to create shapes, Tara can look at what works best before deciding on a shape she likes which will then be held in place with some smaller pins. Tara cleverly left a long piece at the back so that she could use it to cover all the other pins holding my hair in place so once that's in place then the look is complete!

Quick tip: Use the tongs as an iron to smooth the top part of the head for added flatness

I really like this look - it's more wearable than some of the other 'dos that we've done and I just really like that Twenties feel to it. If only I had somewhere to go with it like a party at Jay Gatsby's... I somehow get the feeling that the staff at Pret won't appreciate it as much when I stop by for my lunch!

So today sees the return of Giuseppe - hurrah! After the last do that he created for me I wonder what's in store this time around...

He starts by prepping my hair with some Bumble and bumble Prep spray before adding Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray into the mix. He then starts to dry it into my hair, which is pretty standard procedure... only instead of the usual couple of minutes spent drying the products into my hair, it's been a bit longer than that... I look up to see Giuseppe using a comb to blowdry my hair - okay, nothing too unusual about that either until I realise that my fringe area has some massive lift in it and it's only then that I realise what Giuseppe is doing is using the comb to create kinks and shapes in my hair with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer!

To cap it all off, there's some Bumble and bumble hair powder (white and black) thrown in for good measure (and I'm told that I suit grey hair which is a bit comforting!) as well as some Bumble and bumble Gel which was applied to the sides of my hair. A few grips were used to hold some of my hair back and then after some Bumble and bumble Does It All, Giuseppe is ready to unveil his latest creation...!

Poor Akio. I pounced on him today after Sergio told me how great he was at hairups and then he just couldn't say refuse! Today's 'do is one that spans many things - it's a sort of bouffant, mullet (did I just say that? I mean it in a good way of course...), ponytail hybrid that is quite elegant refined lady one one side and cool, let-me-just-grab-my-leather-jacket edgy on the other. I've probably not sold it to you in the best possible way so let me talk you through the process of how we got here and then maybe you'll be convinced...

Firstly Akio prepped my hair by spraying some Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion into the roots at the top part of my hair where those dastardly short layers are (it's going to haunt the stylists in their dreams, I'm sure of it). Next he used a round brush and our wonderful WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer to create some volume (desperately needed). Take a look at just how much volume my hair got:

Wowee! It's like those Cheryl Cole Minnie Mouse ears all over again...

Next the top part (with all that volume) was section off as Akio mustered up all his strength to pull my hair back into a very tight ponytail using a flat brush and lots and lots of Bumble and bumble Does It All (quickly becoming a firm new friend). After I watched Akio use a piece of elastic, his hands and his teeth (! Yes, he is very skilled, it seems, not just at colouring) to tie this elastic in place, keeping my hair all scraped up and tight. Lots of Bumble and bumble Does It All followed and then Akio ran a very fine tooth comb through the pulled pony.

After that it was time to go back to the top part. Taking the clips out, Akio sprayed some sections with Bumble and bumble Does It All before backcombing with his trusty fine toothed comb. More Bumble and bumble Does It All followed to keep the backcombing intact and I get a mini bouffant/beehive much like this:

Back to the bottom part and the ponytail is pinned flat to my head from left to right. The WAM Digitial Straightening Iron was then used on the end bit of the ponytail to make it curve along with my jawline (or so it was planned). More grips were utilised to keep it following the line of my jaw as possible.

I'm super excited to have Neil doing 'do of the day today! If you haven't already gathered from our website, Neil has done the hair of the likes of Natalie Portman, Gisele, Scar Jo and Gwenyth Paltrow to name a few and today it's my turn! Before we start, Neil hands me a bag full of random coloured things and asks me plug in two units and stick in two of the smallest thingymajigs into the two units... I nod, slightly confused and trot off to the nearest free styling station with a plug socket. Turns out these things have a name: hot sticks (as they're rubber sticks that, obviously, get hot) and we'll be using them for our afro-style look today.

Neil starts by taking quite small sections of my hair (starting from the back) which are no wider than 1cm and then spraying them with Bumble and bumble Holding Spray before using one of these hot sticks. The Holding Spray is a wet hairspray that when dry will set my hair in tight curls.

Fast forward to later and the hot sticks are being taken out of my hair... There's so many I think it's never going to end! Now I have these really small, tight curls, shorter hair and a whole lot less weight on my head - it's weird to the say the least. Can't say I'll be changing my look to this anytime soon!

Neil then starts to brush out the tiny curls in sections using a flat bristle brush and then backcombs it a little until my whole head is done.

Wowee, what a change! Never knew my hair could be so... big! It looks pretty cool, wish I had some clothes from Marc Jacobs SS11 to complete the whole 70s, disco look...

Finally, Neil uses pins and grips to style my afro frizz. When he's done I feel a little bit like Willow Smith only less cool than her and more Asian.  Nevertheless, the look is amazing - I'll be waiting for those clothes, Marc...!

The maestro of speedy styling is Sergio and today he's opted to go for a 40s, wrapped look. I'm curious to see how this will turn out as he starts to spray Bumble and bumble Prep into my hair before soaking it in some Bumble and bumble Holding Spray.

My hair is then combed over from left to right before the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer is used to help make the wrap sit and hold how Sergio wants it to by blowdrying it all towards the right.

Making the use of some grips, Sergio helps reinforce the wrapped look of my hair. Between the grips and the amount of Bumble and bumble Holding Spray in my hair, I know that this do isn't going anywhere!

On the right side of my head, Sergio sprays some more Bumble and bumble Holding Spray before combing through the hair and rolling it back before pinning it into place.

A nice light breezy blast from the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and a few touch-ups later and we're done! Ladies and Gents, let me introduce you to The Wrap!

Collette had a few spare moments today so I managed to get a quick 'do done! We're going for a relaxed updo today and Collette's decided on a look that's sleek on top with some rougher texture in the bottom part of the 'do which will be a side pony.

My hair is prepped with some Bumble and bumble Prep and Bumble and bumble Thickening spray, which is then blowdried in with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer. To balance the shape we're going after, Collette gently backcombs a little on both side of my hair, spraying Bumble and bumble Does It All before doing so.

A side pony is created on the left and tied off with elastic.

Some more Bumble and bumble Prep, Bumble and bumble Thickening spray and a touch of Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray are spritzed on before Collette starts work on a fishtail braid. I'm quite excited to see how it's done as I've always wondered and Collette made it look easy peasy! First she split the hair into four strands, and numbered them 1, 2, 3 and 4 going from left to right. She crossed 1 over 2 and then 2 over 3 before crossing each pairing over each other. Next, she took a teeny tiny strand of hair from the outer part of each side and moved them into the middle and over onto the other side. This is much easier to see and do than read or describe how to do!

Her tip for making the perfect fishtail braid is to not take took much of the outside area when crossing it over into the middle else you will soon run out of hair!

Once braided and tied off with elastic Collette gently pulls at parts of the braid and then runs one of the WAM Digital Straightening Irons over the top of it.

Taking the braid out, we have a rougher texture in the bottom half of my hair and Collette enhances this further by gently backbrushing some parts of this. Once happy with it all, a good spraying of Bumble and bumble Does It All ensures the look will stay in place.

Poor MJ! Today I sprang the news on her that we're going to start some themed do of the days, starting with vintage. After a chat with Collette (who suggested Dot Cotton-style dos), MJ decided to do a 1940s-bob and make use of one of the prototypes for our new curling irons.

MJ gets straight to it, taking a section of my hair at the back and spraying some Bumble and bumble Does It All on it to protect the hair. Using our yet-to-be-released tongs, she curls my hair and then uses a clip to keep the curl intact. She does this all over and whilst she's curling, she draws a little crowd of stylists all wanting to know what our new tongs are like. MJ only has glowing things to say about them "they're sooooo smooth! It makes everything so much easier because you can roll the barrel!" I don't own any electrical hairstyling tools besides a hairdryer but she's even sold me on them! Soon enough I have a whole head of these big, beautiful curls and I do feel a little as if I've stepped back in time. MJ then uses the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer with the WAM Universal Diffuser to cool down the hot curls and we're onto the next step.

The clips are coming out but even after they do my curls are still more or less as they were. Taking a Mason Pearson hairbrush, MJ sprays on some Bumble and bumble Does It All onto the brush and then starts brushing out the lovely curls, with a bit of backcombing thrown in for good measure. At the back of my head she tolls some sections underneath itself and uses grips to secure them in place.

Moving onto the front, MJ's main focus is on connecting the back section with the front section via the waves using a comb, some clips and good old Bumble and bumble Does It All.

I really love this look, it feels so glamorous and chic! Stepping out into our reception area to take some final photos I was greeted with loads of compliments so I have to hand it to MJ for doing such a fab job! If we ever do a countdown of the best dos ever then I'm certain this will be right up there!

I've been off with flu for a few days (it seems that everyone is either coming down with it, having it or getting over it) but I'm back in bright and early this morning for a couple of special press appointments. I was running late thanks to the snow delaying my train but managed to get in eventually and had Sergio style my hair for the day in record timing! Here is a rather speedy version of 'do of the day!

My hair was firstly washed and then some Bumble and bumble Styling Creme was worked in before using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer to dry it off. Next Sergio simply took some grips and pinned my hair up and within seconds I have the 'do you will be soon be seeing!

I wish I could offer more information on how he did it but Sergio is such a magical whizz that he makes it seem like nothing! A good spritzing of Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray and I was ready to go!

Sorry for less pics than usual - like I said, Sergio was such a whizz and I'm barely functioning in mornings that he was done in minutes! Also it's probably a good thing you don't get to see my poorly face!

Bon has just been itching to do 'do of the day and today it happened! He starts by prepping my hair with Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion, before layering some Bumble and bumble Holding Spray on top of that. After, he starts to comb through my hair and combs back my fringe.

Then Kei pops along and wants to get in on the photo action by striking a pose like Mickey Mouse:

Next, Bon sprays on some Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray and then begins to braid along the parting he's just given me.

Whew! Are you ready for Kei's latest 'do of the day? He's been getting ready for a while now, sizing up the competition (you may remember him photobombing Bon's most recent 'do of the day) and planning his do carefully... Today he's ready to share with you all what he's come up with...

Today's 'do is a bit of a team effort with Bon helping Kei and Sergio helping me by photographing the whole process.

Firstly my hair is spritzed with some Bumble and bumble Thickening spray all over before Kei sections off some hair towards my crown, telling me that he's making a plait. Of course I can't see a thing but luckily Bon takes a snap so I can see what's going on:

More Bumble and bumble Thickening spray is added to my left side, an area sectioned off, plaited and tied off with elastic before being repeated on the right side.

Lots more Bumble and bumble Thickening spray is added to the back of my head, which Kei applies in sections before making use of the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and a roundbrush; drying my hair upwards.

We're not quite done with my hair yet as Kei brings out a tub of Bumble and bumble Sumowax. Now, if you're a regular reader with a great memory you might remember that before the Burberry show, some of the models had come in from another show (where Kei was assisting funnily enough) where Bumble and bumble Sumowax had been applied to the girls' hair rather thickly. Ever since then I've never been able to look at Bumble and bumble Sumowax in the same way! So when Kei starts heating up the wax a little with the hairdryer and then applying it to the back of my head in sections I'm having pre-show flashbacks. He adds this in mainly at the roots and then blowdries my hair with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer again upwards with the help of a comb.

Moving on from the top to the bottom, Bumble and bumble Gellac is squeezed onto my hair and applied in sections going from the crown forwards right up to my fringe, which is slicked back. Kei then runs a wide-toothed comb through my slicked hair, which he then goes over with his fingers to enhance the ridges.

Bon and Kei then both arm themselves with some WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryers and WAM Universal Diffusers aimed at the gelled section of hair and soon enough I'm feeling mighty hot and sweaty!! Whilst drying, Kei also adds some Bumble and bumble Extra Strength Holding Spray onto my gelled hair.

WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryers off of me and I'm happily feeling much cooler! Kei tells me that that first plait at the back of my head will be the base for this look as he threads some elastic through my hair:

It's a quick blast from the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryers after that with the hair being dried upwards again. Kei then hands me a piece of elastic stretched around the back of my head to hold as he pulls all my hair up and then ties it into a super high pony with some more elastic.

Now it's time to deal with the sides! Leaving only tiny pieces of hair, Kei takes most of my hair on each side and ties it up around the back before looping it.

The leftover pieces of hair have Bumble and bumble Gellac applied to them and then, using a fine tooth comb, Kei combs them into waves which go around my face.

I think it must be about time for some finishing touches and when Kei reaches for a can of Bumble and bumble Does It All, it's coming up to it. He sprays Bumble and bumble Does It All on my ponytail and then grabs the nearest pair of WAM Digital Straightening Irons which he uses on the pony. More Bumble and bumble Does It All follows this to secure it.

On top of the gelled hair, Kei sprays on some Bumble and bumble Blondish hair powder, then some Bumble and bumble Black hair powder on the pony. Looking at my hair, he then decides to create a stencil and starts doing just that...

Once the stencil is made and used Kei decides to use it in another way with the Bumble and bumble Red Hair powder and after that, we're done!

Kei even took the final photos himself and ask me to edit the photographs in this way, with lots of contrast, just the way he likes it. So now I guess our stylists of making the dos, photographing the dos and art-directing them too!

Today we're carrying on with our vintage theme and as Akio has some free time, we get straight to it in creating a new do! He preps my hair with Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion and Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion before drying it all into my hair with the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and a roundbrush to create some volume. He's really going at it and for a while I have Justin Bieber hair. If you've ever wanted to see me with Bieber's barnet, you're in for a mighty big treat:

Collette's taking over my hair today and she's planning on doing a different hairup than she's used to using the new WAM Revolving Irons (still in a prototype stage at this point but all v.exciting!)

Before she can think about how to use them (it's her first time using the irons as well as doing my hair), she starts prepping my hair by dampening it with some Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion, before working in a bit of Bumble and bumble Styling Creme. This is then dried into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer and I'm given a center parting.

Next the plan is to curl my hair "the wrong way" (I think, "there's a wrong way?!" but yes there is and there is a for good reason too...), which means upwards with the tongs. We're using the WAM Revolving Irons in size 31 - the biggest size - as we're more interesting in getting a bend in my hair rather than lots of curls. As usual there's a light misting of Bumble and bumble Does It All before tonging to protect my hair. Whilst Collette uses the revolving tongs, there's lots of positive things to be said that kinda goes over my head. For those professional hairstylists out there I'm told that you can still manipulate how you feed the hair though and it's great for this type of curling as you're standing in front of the barrel rather than leaning from the other side. For those everyone else, it just makes tonging easier!

As Collette gets nearer the top of my head, what used to be my side fringe (now split in half down the middle) starts to spring up and I look a bit like I've grown a moustache on top of my head.

Next it's time for some backbrushing, which I'm told gives a softer finish than backcombing. We're using a flatbrush to do this and Collette starts by taking a section from the side of my head, behind the ear and brushing it upwards.

After spraying some more Bumble and bumble Does It All, it's time to roll it onto itself and then pinning it at the base before following this up with some more Bumble and bumble Does It All. Collette then adds some tissue and clip to the side and we cross our fingers that it won't go flat! This is then repeated on the other side.

Giuseppe's agreed to to try his hand at creating 'do of the day today and what a do it was. He tells me that today I'm his canvas - or rather, my hair is his canvas - and gets to work!

He starts by prepping my hair with a lot of Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray before giving me a perfectly straight parting (usually my parting is a bit... wonky). Next comes some Bumble and bumble Gel and boy, there is A LOT! Giuseppe is painting it onto the top half of my hair with a brush and soon enough my hair is slicked flat against my head. It looks rather cool just like this and I wish I was wearing that YSL Smoking Jacket in that iconic Helmut Lang shot.

Next he takes a section from where my fringe was (it's been slicked back) and makes wavy patterns with the hair using a comb.

After that, Giuseppe turns his attention to my, er... sideburns. Or to be more precise, my right sideburn as he takes a long section from it and makes waves using a comb which twists its way onto my cheek. Soon enough all the gel in this piece of hair has paralysed my right cheek (possible cheap alternative to Botox?)

Once my fringe and right sideburn is done it's time to work with the top part of my head. Grabbing some tissues, Giuseppe lays them out on my head to create a stencil with the help of one of our assistants, Julio. He then sprays some Bumble and bumble Red Hair Powder on and then dries it into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer.

The moment of truth! Did it work?

To make the shapes more defined, Giuseppe also used some Bumble and bumble Black Hair Powder to touch up the red that managed to get through the tissues. At the same time, Giuseppe tells us that he doesn't want the shine of the gel and that he prefers the matte look as it's more unexpected and interesting.

Inbetween the sprayed-on shapes, Giuseppe takes some more gel and brushes some on in the spaces between the coloured areas creating a new dimension to the look.

To finish he sprays the sides of my head with some more Bumble and bumble Black Hair Powder and paints on some more gel on the left side of my head. He wants to sign his artwork but unfortunately can't find a white coloured medium that will allow him to do this (the Bumble and Bumble and bumble White Hair Powder didn't show up as well as he'd hoped!) Ahh well, maybe next time, eh?

This look is super cool. Mia loved it so much she called Giuseppe "the Damien Hirst of hair" - quite the compliment in my books!

Obviously this look is not something you'd pop to the shops in but it's incredibly creative and everyone in the salon loved it. I love the wavy pieces of hair stuck to my face - they're a bit like little doodles you do when you're on the phone or bored and the shapes are just so well done. My hair at the back was kept in its natural state, which Giuseppe liked, and it made for an interesting mix of textures. I can't wait to see someone top this!

This might possibly be the longest 'do thus far! Before we started Bon mentioned ever-so-casually that he had an idea for a do but it may take two hours. What was this idea? "It's hard to explain," Bon tells me. I'm intrigued as he starts by prepping my hair with Bumble and bumble Thickening spray and Bumble and bumble Holding Spray before running a comb through my hair. He poofs up my hair on the left side, perfects my parting and then sections off the right side.

There's a LOT of Gellac being used here! He applies to the right side of my head and on the back section as well, leaving the left for now. Using a fine tooth comb, Bon creates waves in my hair (I think everyone is loving waves and gel right now by the looks of it!) and adds in a couple of 3D waves, which he's very pleased with!

Happy 2011! Today sees the return of Bon and I wouldn't expect anything other than spectacular hair from him and boy, that's exactly what I got!

Starting with some good old Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray, Bon kept me guessing as he started spraying only the left side of my dry hair. Then using a fine tooth comb he began to brush my hair from the left right over to the other side (think giant combover). This was then separated again into a small section at the front that he then started to braid (I'm not sure I could've done this as my big fingers is a reason why I'm reluctant to switch to a touchscreen phone). As he got nearer to my side fringe, he stopped and slid in a gold hair clip to stop the braid unravelling. Bon tells me that Asian hair is particularly good for this technique.

After braiding seven more sections reaching all the way to the back of my head, Bon shifts his attention to the other side of my head. At this point it looks a little like I've shaved half of my head as one side is flat and the other is free flowing hair. I quite like how this looks but this wouldn't be a Bon barnet if it wasn't more... theatrical!

My hair is then backcombed not a little, but quite a lot and it's sticking up into the air at all odd angles and just generally being quite the opposite of the other side of my head. A little bit Jekyll and Hyde though I'm not sure which side is which. After I've been backcombed enough, I'm given a very big spraying of Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray to make sure my hair stays in place.

Bon disappears, I think we're done but no, he's back and armed with a can of Bumble and bumble White Hair Powder! A spritzing of it on the backcombed side of my hair makes it feel a little Marie Antoinette. So there you have it: a tale of two 'dos!

So each day the stylists at London hairdressers Windle & Moodie will be creating a look which will be posted here as 'do of the day. Normally I am super low-maintenance when it comes to hair - running a comb through it every now and then (!) but my hair is naturally super, super straight and I swear it just doesn't really move! So I'm looking forward to 'Do of the Day because I literally don't do anything with my hair; a ponytail is probably about as adventurous as I get. And so, with a little trepidation, here begins 'Do of the Day...!

Day One

The day before Sergio mentioned possibly creating an "artistocratic" sort of look and I had in mind Marie Antoinette, bouffants and beauty marks. Today, before we started, Sergio said the look we were going to go for was kind of a bit art noveau, using hair grips as an accessory and that it would be elegant but theatrical at the same time. Exciting stuff! This whole entry would be a little pointless if there was no before shot so here is what I look like on a day to day basis (save for those "adventurous" ponytail days): 

Firstly Sergio applied Bumble and bumble Styling Creme through my dry hair (it was due a wash today but Sergio said that a little dirt is good as the product can attach itself to the hair better). This was applied to my hair in sections for maximum body and texture, and then dried into my hair using the WAM Ultimate Ionic Hairdryer.

After some drying he began to gently backcomb at my roots a little to give the style a bit of padding. He explained this to me as I tapped away notes to myself on my BlackBerry and when I looked up again this is what I saw in the mirror:

Big change. Once this was done, it was time to start "building" the shape of the 'do, as it were. Sergio recommends if you are going to try this yourself that you should mostly use your hands (as opposed to brushes or anything else) as this will help retain the softness of the 'do and it's not a style that's meant to be precise anyway. To start you need to take the hair in chunky sections and use a grip to pin it at the roots, following the shape of the head. 

Sergio began by taking a section from one side of my head, lifting it over and adding grips at the roots. You need to leave the ends free for this look. Once one side of the head is done, move on to the other side, repeating what you just did. After both sides are done, move on to the crown area and lift sections to the front and again, use a grip to secure these in place at the base. Work your way down this part of the hair by gripping each section in different directions (right, left, right, etc.) Use some Bumble and bumble Classic hairspray to keep the sections in place by spraying at the roots and mid-section but not at the ends. 

Once you have the base of the shape from the grips, it's now time to finish the shape and start working with those ends. Without being too technical, just wrap the ends onto themselves. The rest, Sergio says, has to be done visually. This is a look that is open to interpretation, but here is a rough idea of what Sergio did next... 

To finish the style he kept the ends out to resemble the effect of feathers, but at the same time kept the style flat to the head and kept adding in grips. Next he switched to golden coloured grips as these will be used as an accessory and not as a tool. The gold also helps to break up the darkness of my natural haircolour and it becomes a bit of a feature. Using these gold grips, Sergio created a design with the grips and then finished with a generous spraying of Bumble and bumble Does It All spray.
