Fujimi to London via Tokyo - that's the route colourist Akio found himself taking in his career.
It all started as a child while glued to the TV, Akio would stare at the glamorous leading ladies and their hair on his screen and wondered how he could create the same thing. Then came Tokyo where he trained in some of the coolest salons in the city. His training was mainly in cutting and styling where he was able to obtain both great technical and creative skills, but soon the colouring bug bit him!
After moving to London, Akio began his training as a colourist at Windle & Moodie, which proved to be the perfect place for being exposed to the many different colours and techniques that London possessed. During his time at Windle & Moodie Akio has built up an impressive roster of regular clients who love his ability to use his styling past when choosing the right colour that will be unique to them.
In his spare time Akio loves walking around the streets of London, even for hours on end. Although he wishes he could do it more often but he is kept busy with editorial shoots and working on fashion shows including the likes of Burberry, Lanvin and Margaret Howell.
